Artworks Opening Night

So last night was the opening night for Artworks and it was a great night.
Met a lot of great people and was good to meet others with similar interests!

Started off great for Dove House Hospice with a quite a few sales of work already including one of Dennis's The Devoted Photographers of Antoni Gaudi III if anyone is interested in buying art for a gift, christmas or just for yourself please go to the following link where you can buy online alternatively go to see the exhibition at Kingston Art Gallery on Humber street open every saturday/sunday 11am - 4pm throughout October!!

http://www.dovehouse.org.uk/art

I was nervous about showing my work but in the end I felt proud to be part of it and it would just be just a bonus if my work sells so money goes to Dove House Hospice. Dove house is a great charity and what they do is amazing and in my eyes showcases human compassion and spirit.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all my family for attending and supporting me - I love you all and really appreciate your support it keeps my goal in sight x x

The following photos are from the opening night for those of you who could not make it

Can you spot my two prints??

Art inspired Dove House fundraisers with their collection boxes, the donation boxes looked great and had their own individual  inspiring messages on their bases: please see below

Please help

If you can help please give a home to them, Cyril came from a rescue centre Hull Animal Welfare Trust and he was a devoted cat and most of all my best friend.

Please see link for RSPCA also guys there are other rescue centres who are over run and need our genuine help. I wish I could help but working full time and having 2 cats already I am not in a position to offer a loving home at the moment.

The story below also shows that if you have an animal get them neutured!!! There is help out there with vouchers and charities will help you with the cost to avoid scenes like this.

And my grade is...

Hi

My hard work and long hours paid off, I got a distinction in my BTEC :)
So happy and pleased with myself!!

I found out during Hulls Freedom festival so I celebrated with a wee few drinks and live music.
Was a great weekend and the festival was great (only problem I had was with some security who tried to detain me for having a camera - but thats another story haha)

I have a gallery of the festival which will be uploaded onto www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk very soon, my name on there is angel24.

So now I have time to concentrate on my photography and start getting out there again.
During the course I have met up with Takemetothekittens photographer Dennis Low who has become a friend and has helped give me that kick up I needed!!! Seriously though I am very greatful to Dennis for all the help and support he has been and continues to give to me :)

Thank you!!

BTEC Mark this week!!

Still no news on Lola, I have been in touch with the shelters but no cat matching Lola's description :(
I hope Lola and her owner are reunited soon.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I finally finished college last month and hopefully should get mark this week. It was a bit hectic towards the end and to be honest I am glad its over, bit too much working full time and doing a course at the same time. I felt I did not get that support I needed at college but maybe it was because it meant alot to me I felt that way?!

The pictures below are the ones are submitted for my final mark C&C please.

This was shot in the studio. I wanted to do a darker side of the Alice In Wonderland hence the black/white and low key lighting. I love how the lights have been caught in her eyes (catch light). I enjoyed doing the Alice in Wonderland theme and would like to develop this further. I  prefer fantasy than reality! :)

Barcelona - I used a long shutter speed and tripod for this shot. My dad was with me during this and was great, he was very patient I was there awhile!!

This is a picture of my dad. I love the leading lines in the shot and different textures. Even though its taken in a graveyard and he is in a suit, you know its a good occasion due to his relaxed walk and smile.

My best friend got married end of june. I wanted to get a shot of her dress flowed out with all the colours showing. I did this with a fast shutter speed. This was my shot of the night :)

I love the pattern of the bricks in the background and I wanted this to take up most of the image with the subject below to create a dramatic feel to the picture. I took this in Barcelona and would love to go back to do a project on street photography.

I will let you know what mark I got this week, thats if the post is on time and not delayed!!

Please help find missing Lola

Missing

Hi Guys got home today to find out one of my neighbours cats is missing, please see picture above.

She is called Lola 2 years old, fluffly black cat, no collar and very friendly. She was last seen Saturday 18th August on Thoresby street.

She is a lovely cat the photo above and below are ones I took a few months back, she is really friendly and I have spotted her and Gyspy playing together recently out front.

If you live nearby please check sheds etc and keep an eye out for her so we can get her safely back home.

If you have any information please get in touch

Thanks
