Update on the visitor

Hi guys

Sorry for not updating for so long!

So visitor did not return the Monday night and to be honest I was gutted :(

Tuesday night me and my dad was in my garden and we heard a cat's cry, I knew straight away it was the visitor's. Rambo just looked at me with a look saying no way!

I looked across and visitor was on neighbours roof, he/she came running into the garden being very vocal, bolted for the back door, ate Rambo's food, then came to see me and my dad, jumped up on us both being very affectionate, then after 10min left. So thought that was that, went to shop came back and my dad called me into the front room and they are both laid out on the sofa!!

Rambo came in and did a double look and bless him, did not know what to do so just looked.

So visitor was in the house very comfortable, looking around, not phased by anything or Rambo. They both sat on Rambo's usual spot looking out at garden and it was like a comedy sketch. Rambo would look at visitor, then look away, then visitor would look at Rambo. This happened numerous times :)

Dad left and I settled in front of tv for an hour or so having a love with Rambo and no sign of visitor - whom l assumed had gone home, so went to bed with Rambo

Got into bed with Rambo at my feet, just about to read and looked up at my wardrobe, which is opposite my bed, and there is visitor looking down on us!!
I just laughed but it took Rambo awhile to notice her and when he did he never took his eyes off her!

Visitor stayed there all night and got up with me and Rambo, fed them both went to work and left them to it!

Came home around dinner time to take visitor to vets to see if chipped and both were asleep upstairs. Took visitor to vets and visitor is a she and not chipped!!

Our visitor

Me and Rambo had a visitor last night!

I was cooking my tea and heard a tap at the window and it was a kitten! Very very vocal I opened the door and he/she ran right in!
Rambo was more shocked than anything else :) I picked the kitten up and took it back outside, it started purring and when I put him/her down started crying!!

I so wanted to let it back in but did not want to upset Rambo - he is a moody furry thing anyways!!

So the kitten kept at the window sills of both rooms shouting to be let in for hours I finally gave in and made a make shift shelter so it was safe and warm for the night also some food.

Rambo stayed downstairs all night keeping an eye on him/her I think he normally chases cats away but this time he didn't

So this morning I got up looked out the window and could not see the kitten I thought it must of found his/her way home. I opened the door and it dived right into the house again - most of been waiting in the shadows :) I got the kitten out and gave it some more food and water, the kitten had slept in the shelter.

It was time for work so had to leave Rambo and the kitten to it. I arrived home at teatime and the kitten has gone :(

I'm hoping it found his/her home and is safe. I had made an appointment at the vets tomorrow to see if the kitten was chipped and registered lost.

I have left the shelter out tonight just in case.

I managed to get one photo of the kitten looking right at me as Rambo is looking out from inside.

I did not name the kitten otherwise I would of got attached!!

I will keep you guys updated if our visitor returns, Rambo is out there now just watching and waiting on the wall where the kitten was :)

The Start of ... Many these are taken on Thoresby, Clumber and Belvoir Streets in Hull

The Cats of Princes Avenue

Cyril

Cyril

first blog!! eeekk

Hi guys, I have never done this before so bear with me while I get to grips with it! :)

Basically I have started this blog because I had an awesome idea for my photography.  I am currently studying BTEC Level 1 in Photography. Photography has become a great passion in my life and I like to capture photos of scenes we pass by everyday without noticing becuase we are all so busy with our hectic lives we miss what is right in front of us :)

I am a cat person through and through and to be honest probably am a crazy cat lady but I don't care!! haha
I have one cat called Rambo he is 3 years old and looks like a baby black bear - he has his teenage attitude at the moment!!

Seriously though where I live there are so many cats and I thought it would be cool to capture pictures of the cats down each street off Princes Avenue Hull - they have their own world, existence among us and most humans don't notice.
I will be taking these photos over a period of time, I wont be chasing the cats down the streets or anything or distressing them just a quick shot I would not want to cause any distress.
I will also try not to show what is obviously peoples homes as much as I can.

I am going to take pictures of the cats of Princes Avenue and create collages/prints of each street with the photos of the cats I have taken photos of.
I will upload photos of cats from each street I have took their photo.

I am hoping fellow animal lovers/cat lovers local and far away will enjoy the photos I take.
I recently went to an exhibition at art link for take me to the kittens please see link
http://www.takemetothekittens.com/
D Jun-Yu Low inspired me to make this happen.

Princes Avenue is a popular cafe/bar/restaurant area in Hull and theres a number of streets that lead onto the avenue, I live off one of them, theres 11 streets in total;

Welbeck street
Thoresby street
Clumber street
Belvoir street
Blenheim street
these then lead onto other streets
Wharncliffe street
Perth street

There is also The Avenues off Princes Avenue much larger houses but I thought I would just concentrate on the streets above at this time.

I will upload the photos and keep you guys updated as I go along. I got started today with my photos, the weather was a lot better today so more cats were out!! They don't like rain, just like us!!
I'm hoping once the weather gets warmer I will be able to get more photos.

If I get enough I am hoping to put an exhibition at Dove House Hospice in October with all proceeds going to Dove House and Hull Animal Welfare Trust.
Hull Animal Welfare Trust help rehome animals in the area and also help any animals in any way they can, they never put a animal down unless its the right thing to do for them.
They supported me with my cat Cyril with his many vet visits and were always supportive with Cyrils wellbeing and always at the other end of the phone when I needed to talk (Leah was so understanding and helped me through)

My photos at the top are of Cyri Christmas 2011, I got him from Animal Welfare 3 years ago he was my best friend and was always at my side. Cyril sadly passed away Friday 9th March 2012, he was an old man and kept going as long as he could. I miss him loads, he now rests overlooking the sea.

This project is dedicated to Cyril and all cats out there.

The following photos are photos which I took today, the first of many!!

Hope you enjoy and any comments would be appreciated.

Until next time
