The Cats of Downing Street who do you want to be the first Purr Minister!!

The Downing Street cats
Cats have long been associated with politics and No 10 Downing Street, which has had a “chief mouser” to tackle vermin for decades.
One cat – nicknamed the Munich Mouser – was in residence during the time of Neville Chamberlain and then Winston Churchill.
Harold Wilson took his own pet, a Siamese cat called Nemo, when he moved into Number 10 in 1964.
The most famous cat in residence was Wilberforce, who was brought to the house in 1973 under PM Edward Heath and went on to serve under Margaret Thatcher and John Major before he was officially retired in 1986, dying two years later.
Humphrey followed but is rumoured to have been shooed away by Tony Blair’s wife Cherie, who disliked cats.

Have you met Graham?

I saw this story a few weeks ago and it made me smile.

I love the fact that Graham has now become a local celebrity! Looks like he made an excellent choice for a cool hangout.

Hull Fair

Slightly off topic but for those of you who don't live in Hull it is Hull Fair Week.

Hull Fair is an annual 8 day event in October which is more than 700 years old and is the largest travelling fair in Europe.

I'm lucky to live close by so love to go with my camera and get some shots.

I went early on Sunday when the fair was closed. I have never been to the fair when it's closed and it was obviously a completely different atmosphere. Very eerie and creepy! The weather was typical Hull Fair weather as we locals call it, windy wet and cold. The fairground was completly deserted when I went apart from crows.

I got soaked through taking the photos and quickly left when one of the rides started moving on its own!
